The Gospel of Gain

What would the apostles of Jesus's day do in the cold spiritually polluted population of America? What would they need to accomplish the commission of their day? What would they say about our love for one another? I often think that they would ask us why we persist in preaching the Gospel without the power of God. Where is the Holy Spirit? Where is the fire?

Do our bodies still dripping with our own carnal thoughts have the authority of Christ to usher in strong revelation from the Holy Spirit? Does our ignorance of Satan and his organized plots against us reflect the entire truth that was given to us by Jesus and His apostles. They were in chains, yet they poured out the power of the Holy Spirit in their words. We are also in chains to the Gospel of monetary prosperity.

Is this really what Jesus had in mind to spread His gospel? A commercialized marketing scream to package and sell the truths of God. Yes we need to take Jesus to the world but isn't this a slippery Gospel we are bringing them?

I would not like to get into a lengthy debate about the very real law of sowing and reaping, but where is the balance of suffering for Christ to bring the flesh into captivity? Yes, there are some that are bound by a spirit of poverty and they need deliverance but we can not use the laws of God to benefit the desires of the flesh. In Mark 2:3 Jesus says: "How can Satan drive out Satan?" This flesh is crucified with Christ. The Spirit is the one that brings life! It's the Spirit that is the true evidence of our prosperity not our wealth.

Wealth alone is not evil but it can be a seductive pathway to evil. I'm so very concerned that many are being carless with souls, minds, futures and the truth of our God.
